Our Pastor
Jim Behrens was born and raised in Morris, Illinois. He earned a B.A. from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, and spent 10 years teaching high school English, speech, and drama. God then led him to the Moody Bible Institute, where he completed the Advanced Studies Program.

After graduation, he moved to Southern California, so he could complete a M. Div. at Talbot Theological Seminary, a part of Biola University. During those seminary years he began his pastoral involvement at Creek Park Community Church in La Mirada, California, where he served in various roles for 14 years.

In 1999, Jim and his family, returned to Illinois where he began teaching at Aurora Christian School. After three years there, God opened the door for his current ministry role as pastor at MorningStar Community Church.
